Looking for some opinions and suggestions for our living room. I plan on replacing the mirror above couch with a painting to match with the cushions but lost on what colors to pick? I am thinking mint green and dusty rose red?

I would put a bigger art piece on at the back of the sofa

I think the best choice would be dark green and pale rose. Then placing a [large decorative painting](https://rartz.com/collections/best-sellers)would look very nice. Also, make sure to hang the painting in a position where the arc of the light can slightly surround the painting.

Swap the mirror out for art and use the mirror elsewhere instead. As your space seems more neutral, you could do a larger abstract piece in neutral tones. Or as your space is neutral, you could instead introduce a more statement piece and use that as a pop of color. I would also pull back your rug so that part of it is under your sofa and that it ends before your TV stands. As it is touching edge to edge of your sofa and TV stand, it makes your space look smaller. Swapping your ottoman for a glass coffee table could also help open up your space and make the area look bigger.

The mirror that reflects nothing and the bizarrely tall floor light upset me. It looks like bad 80s decor. I’d rather see art on the wall than a mirror, and table lamps.

You need some plants to break the monotonous shapes and colors. A tree by your tall light, snake plant by your TV. The non geometric shapes and pop of green will go a long way, just make sure you get stuff that’s hard to kill if you don’t have a green thumb 🙂
