Hey y’all,
My husband and I just bought our first house and we’re slowly getting things arranged to our liking. Our kitchen has this built in window seat (see picture). Dimensions are 7.5 ft long, 1 ft deep, and sits 18 in off the floor. My husband‘s suggestion is to put a shelf in for a coffee station but I think that the drop off behind it would look weird and cause problems. I have tried to find a shelf with shorter back legs so it can sit on the built in but I’ve had no luck.
I have suggested a rectangular table and some cushions for the built in and my husband is not a fan, thinks it will crowd the kitchen. The previous owners had a circular table under the light, but that seemed to waste the to me and made things too tight coming in and out of the living room.
Any ideas and links to furniture appreciated.

It is not an odd space. It is an expected one. The light fixture hanging down over it suggests it is supposed to be a dining area. Put a table and chairs under the light fixture. There are all sort of narrow ones, smaller rounds ones and so on. One will be perfect.
