Happy Easter to everyone! we enjoyed a few bottles today, and these two definitely were a couple of fun ones (for me)

Paradis Irancy 2020 (technically my first Burgundy Pinot)

Great acidity, cranberry, wild raspberry. Great red fruit! this has some nice age, and I really like how this is drinking, and would love to try more from the vintage year.

Vanilla, some subtle oak.

Definitely has tertiary notes on the palate. Gives some subtle Forrest flavors. Mushrooms I think.

Great Pinot, makes me wanna dive into Burgundy some more.

Cairanne Grande Reserve (Camille Cayran 2022)

Another first for me from the Cairanne Southern Rhone Valley. region.

My first thought is strawberry cream on the nose. Some cranberry. Very nicely integrated. As it warms up, coating the mouth a little more. Almost "liquorice" kind of taste. Sweet and raspberry and strawberry fruit!

Some spices get in there, I don't really wanna throw around "catchy words" but herbaceous comes to mind.

This still tastes on the younger side, but overall really good. Both of these paired well with pierogies and sausage.
