so I'm doing A LOT of decorating/renovations at the moment. we got wooden floors put in and I thought wouldn't it look great if the start rails were also wood? so sanded it back and it is pine? but like finger jointed glued pine or something? So now I am wondering is it worth staining it to give it some life or will is look cheap/weird?

Stain. Natural is always best. Switching to paint is easy, sanding down to stain after painting is hard.
