I bought a newer home that has all builder grade finishings.
I’m looking for some advice on how to elevate my space and make it look less sterile.
My first thought is to get pendant lights over the island, but I’m open to any advice! I can also post more pictures if needed.

Upgrade the island – add wall panels to it, paint it a different color than the cabinets, wallpaper the back of it. Something unique. New pendants are a good idea. Also undercabinet lighting will make a huge difference (make sure warm white).
Pendant lights would be nice, but definitely are not necessary. Maybe add some chairs to the island, though? And any other personal touches will make it feel less ‘sterile’. Oo, and I almost forgot, plants! They just make really any space look so much better in my opinion! You have a beautiful home already and I hope you find what you’re looking for to really help you enjoy your time in it!
For starters I’d paint the kitchen wall to match the rest of the room.
