  1. Villa Antinori definitely is, especially at that price!

  2. Yes, the Antinori is usually about £20. Where is this? T***o?

  3. For those asking. This is Tesco in the UK.

Big fan of the Gran Corte, a very good (mostly) Cab Franc from Argentina (with the remainder of the blend mostly malbec).

Note that this a very different expression of Cab Franc as compared the Loire, riper, oakier and more full bodied, with fewer of the herbal aromas, but certainly in my view a well balanced, high quality and complex wine. A pretty ridiculous QPR for £17 imo.

A shame to see it coming off the shelves in the UK again, previously it had also been sold in Majestic, but it looks like UK consumers don’t have the appetite for more obscure Argentine wines at the moment.

Going against the grain on the Antinori, although £13 is a good price for it (relative to elsewhere), in terms of quality, I’ve never been a great fan of the wine. Having always found it somewhat lacking concentration and slightly out of balance. Though for a £13 Chianti, I suppose it’s hard to beat.

I would consider cleaning them out of that Antinori

If you like that style of wine, then yes. If not, then no.

  6. slowpokery

I seriously doubt them when they imply they won’t be stocking those wines again. These “reduced to clear” sales are a scam in my opinion

  7. blackandalsotan

That Gigondas on the left on the first pic.
