Most of my house is grey, and not by my choice. I’d love to add some color, but I don’t want to go overboard and have it look out of place compared to the other rooms. I just want my living room to feel a bit more vibrant and less depressing. The speakers are staying on the wall, but I’m thinking of either removing the boring grey shelves or repainting them.

Your decor is way too high on the wall and too small as well.
Shelves are too high. If you want to keep them, I’d move them down a bit but also add some colorful art work around.
I’d remove the shelves. A piece of art with colour would help.
