Just bought 2 brand new Ridel Sommelier Bordeaux glasses.
They were both very hazy, blotchy, and one of them even had a line visible half way up the bowl of the glass, as if was filled with something?

I'm not too familiar with the glass making process, so could this just be result of the manufacturing of the glass?

Is the "water" line from them dipping the glass during the process?

  1. Just wash and polish it and see what it looks like afterwards.

Every Riedel glass I’ve ever bought has had a branded sticker on the bowl that needs to be removed before first wash. They’ve also always looked much nicer than this coming out of the box.

If you didn’t pull the stickers off I’d be curious who did.

  3. My Riedel and Spiegelau glassware never arrived looking perfect – some bought from Wayfair, some Amazon, some Spiegelau itself. Nothing a wash and polish can’t fix. Try that first!
