I have a half hour to decide what to buy. Tonight is the end of my first hospital rotation (8 days working 10.5 hour shifts) and I want to celebrate!

Vajra Barolo or Chorey Les Beaune from Toillot would be by picks.

If you like Nebbiolo, that Langhe is actually one of my favorites. Super clean, gorgeous fruits and has this great orange zest note on the end of it – but that’s entirely my biased pick. The Albe was wine of the year a couple years back, you won’t go wrong with it. Not super familiar with the other 3.

I second the Langhe. I had it at a blind tasting dinner party and it came in first place out of the 10 bottles we had. It was one of the most enjoyable bottles I’ve ever had.

  4. They’re all great, but too young! Maybe the Chorey 👌🏻

Personal fave, but I love the Saint Cosme Gigondas

  6. If you are in a wine shop with employee picks. You should be asking them

Beaucastel hands down. 2021 was a difficult year but Beaucastel is a solid choice, especially around $50.

No way sassicaia is 50s. Otherwise I’d say buy that bottle!

I would ask Ted or someone in the shop!

If the Cannubi is 2021 get that, else get the Albe, it’s awesome also and it’s 2021 which is a great vintage

Why lie when there is literally a price sticker on bottles?

  12. What do YOU like to drink? that’ll help guide the answers! Notwithstanding that…

The Produttori Langhe Nebbiolo is great if you like high-acid, more structured reds. Would go well with food. The Vajra Barolo (Albe) is a good entry level Barolo that will be a touch more expensive.

Coudolet de Beaucastel is a nice southern Rhone blend. Will be quite fruit-forward.

The Tollot-Beaut Chorey-les-Beaune is a good entry-level red Burg. This producer makes some good stuff in the $50 range.

That Albe one is amazing. I ve been to the winery and this was super good, even when young ( witch this is )
    Might want to decant.
