2021 Stefan Vetter Sylvaner GK
Another super interesting and unique bottle of Sylvaner from the talented Stefan Vetter. A wonderfully pure distillation of the beautiful terroir of this tiny corner of the Franken region of Germany.
First and foremost you feel the chalky mineral texture of the wine and salinity runs throughout the wine. Notes of lemon and bergamot lead into a savory ashy quality before finishing with herbs and tea leaves.
There is a dissident quality to Stefan’s wines and this very much follows that path. Wines that answer to no one other than their creator because they are stripped bare to expose an honest, transparent, and singular expression of place.

Love Vetters wines. Last night I tried his Silvaner and Cider for the first time. The riesling needed a lot of air and the cider was amazing. Very complex stuff
