hi everyone! I’m looking for your expertise and creative solutions to maximizing area around my refrigerator and between the cabinet and wall of my new apartment. We just moved so we haven’t started decorating yet and it’s a small smaller apartment so we’re still trying to figure out what makes sense storage wise.
the first few pics are the areas in question, the last couple of photos are some Pinterest and info that I’m really interested in right now which I’m hoping can give you a sense of the vibe that we’re going for.
renter friendly ideas only please! whether it’s storage or decor, we want all the visions. we’re also pretty crafty and open to building things if you have ideas.
if it matters, no outlet by the cabin and one open outlet directly behind the fridge

Have you measured the space between the cabinet and the wall? It’s hard to tell there’s room for anything there. Actually same question for the area available around your fridge though at a glance it seems to at least be enough room to keep your broom/mop hidden between the fridge & wall.
You’re going to want to move the fridge to one side or another. I live in a prewar apartment with an unfitted kitchen, and the oven, sink, and fridge were all just floating there. So I made shelves/drawers/countertops myself (a cart on the left, stacked under sink drawers on the right, both topped w/ ‘countertops’ I had cut at the hardware store and then covered with vinyl. Eventually, extra space, and something approaching a real room.
