The 2025 disgorgement Legrand-Latour Yprésien. Wanted something interesting for my girlfriend and my anniversary, and this is my first (mostly) pinot meunier based champagne.

Notes:
Nose was very intensely brioche-y, with an almost nutty smell, with also citrus notes, not as much green apple. Salmon coloured, very fine bubbles, intensely fizzy.
Very interesting taste though, the red grape varieties' tannins even shine through. Very good balanced acidity with a slight salinity, and again the slightly nutty aromas coming through, with a very long finish that ends with you wanting more. Definitely the opposite of a bdb (duh), but very balanced and well made champagne.

  1. If this is your introduction to Pinot Meunier you’re starting on a pretty serious note.

Roger Barnier has a 100% Meunier cuvee that’s my go to when I want to explain someone the potential of the grape.
