We just bought this house and have this odd space in the hallway it is deep, we need ideas on what to do with it, and thought Reddit could give good suggestions!

Cool artwork, fake or real plants that don’t need lots of light, lego sets or small statues, a neon sign, sword collection, so many options 😅

You could put a little door on it and use it as a small linen closet or add shelves and put some trinkets / pictures? Since it’s pretty deep I’d use it for linens personally.
Is it near the living or dining room? You could put some glass doors on it and use it as a fancy liquor / wine cabinet.

When this sort of post comes out, it’s always in US. Can any US house builders shed light on why US homes seem to have odd nooks and alcoves everywhere! There must be an additional cost to boarding these out rather than just having straight flat walls surely? So why do it?

If you have small children, this could be a cute cozy reading nook if you add a step ladder. My friends did something similar in their home.
