The header along the top of the column seems to be load bearing. Has an architect approved the removal of the column and the removal of the header that protrudes from the ceiling? If the 2 sections are load bearing, it could be a 4-5 figure project.

I would say no wall, and then make the distinction between the living room and dining area with a rug in the living room

I like 1, because it’s still open, however it’s nicely defines spaces. Everyone has different opinions. You’ll never get a consensus. Go with what you love.
