I crammed a few bottles in my suitcase back. Can’t wait to try these, and had some great wines by the glass from not only Hungary but also Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Id put Furmint as my favorite but also the Harslevelu and the Olaszrizling. No tasting notes yet and I didn’t take any notes. The Aszu is of course the most famous but wanted to expand my horizons.

    Well done!

Hungary is the most underrated wine country, very special with all its volcanic terroirs, indigenous amazing varieties and stunning winemakers!

I barely know couple of your picks and not at all the others, let us know how they are!

Regarding grapes, Furmint and Harslevelu are indeed top notch whites that can compete without fear with anything, being the natural counterparts of Riesling first of all!

Ageing potential is incredible for the top expressions!

If interested I made several videos about the country!
