My kitchen has, in my mind, the most mind boggling design – a small bit of the window runs over the kitchen counter.
Up until now I’ve had long curtains, but they’ve just been makeshift until I’ve figured out what I want. I hung them from the very edge of the window at the top, causing them to ”fall” a bit diagonally because of the counter. It didn’t look terrible but it also didn’t look great.
I’m trying so hard to convince myself short curtains, café curtains or valance curtains actually could look good… but I’m feeling quite a bit of resistance, lol.

I went with cellular light filtering shades and I am really happy with them
I wouldn’t do curtains, I’d do a beautiful linen Roman shade.
I would buy plant hangers for all of those plants and just hang them in the window, freeing up the shelf
Roman shade mounted high so that when raised it sits just above the windows (doesn’t block view or ability to open the windows)
