We bought our house four years ago, and the previous owners had lived here since 1968. They took extremely good care of the house, and happily for us they didn't make everything millenial greige before putting it on the market 😀 Over the last year we've been making it our own, although not making very many big cosmetic changes. The big thing was pulling up the royal-blue carpet that was covering up oak floors.
I'm really happy with how it's coming along! We're adding our own personality and style along with the things that were already here, like the wallpaper, curtains, and valances. Some of our own additions, like the late-60s record player, go really well in the room. Most of the furniture and art (besides family photos) is from Facebook Marketplace and thrift stores 🙂 The last few photos are from before we bought it.
