I was only able to secure 2 cases so I split them between a good customer and myself. Made with only 20% declassified grapes and 1/3 of the price of the 1er. I’ll be setting down the rest of the case for 5-10 years. Below are some tasting notes:

Domaine Leflaive Bourgogne Blanc 2023

Appearance:

Pale lemon with subtle green highlights. Brilliant clarity.

Nose:

Expressive and fresh. Aromas of white flowers, grapefruit peel, and citrus zest lead. Supported by a delicate touch of vanilla and light oak.

Palate:

Crisp and lively with bright acidity and a light, elegant mouthfeel. Flavours of citrus fruit, green apple, and pineapple are layered over a distinct mineral backbone. The wine is refreshing and palate cleansing, showing excellent precision.

Finish:

Long and clean, with lingering citrus and mineral notes, followed by a subtle echo of oak.

Overall:

Very well balanced and structured, offering a refined, approachable expression of Burgundy Chardonnay. Shows both freshness and understated complexity.

Have you the same impression : everything tastes the same in Leflaive? Everytime I did a horizontal of them there’s not so much plot’s expression between different cuvées…
