This is a rendering from the cabinet compay (not my stools, lighting etc)
I posted a design idea the other day and based on suggestions, added larger island, cabinets to the ceiling and removed micro over stove
Im not sure about the glass in the cabinets and I feel there should be wider cabinets/ less doors along the back.
Any other suggestions?
the door by fridge is going to be an opening to a large pantry and will allow fridge door to open all the way

I’d consider removing the two small cabinets to the sides of the exhaust. It makes the exhaust look very crowded / boxed in. If you want to keep the cabinets, I’d use a squared off minimal exhaust. The one in the rendering is too nice not to highlight it. plus the sides are going to be hard to clean.
Also, the cabinets in the kitchen island should face inward (towards the stove) and not towards the stools. If people are sitting at the island you can’t use the cabinets and they are going to bang their knees on the knobs.
I don’t love the way they filled the gap between the cabinets and the ceiling – it looks like an afterthought, like you started with shorter cabinets and DIY’ed a solution to bring them to the ceiling. If they’re redoing or building the kitchen from scratch can’t they find a more cohesive, taller cabinet that reaches all the way up without the extra row on top?
Maybe I’m alone in this. But at the very least I would make the doors match the cabinets below instead of being glass, to make it look a little more intentional
