The fair was so exhausting, but got to enjoy some delicious treats afterwards.
Clos de la Marechale 2015 – Mugnier
This was a silky, smooth ride from start to finish. I know Mugniers delicate approach to winemaking but he really outdid himself with this Clos. A wad of different small berries hits you on the nose before hitting your palate as you sip, the fruit aromas return but the silkiness of the wine just leaves you in awe! Crazy long finish and this would probably do even better with a couple more years.
Gevrey Chambertin Vielle Vignes 2022 – Fourrier
in comparison to the Mugnier the GevC was all about sapidity and freshness. I personally like this style of wine a lot, especially after a day of tasting and talking. The overall nose was way less structured and less complex and more on the fruity side, this also showed then on the palate. Very fresh drinking and I could enjoy more than one bottle of this probably.
Blanc-de-Blancs – Johannes Aufricht
if you know you know, this guy is the most hyped producer in Germany right now and now I understand why. We’ve had two Champagnes and this German Sekt was knocking them out like Tyson in his prime. pure electricity on the palate which almost left your mouth tingling. The freshness and the very nice oak usage and cremosity was out of this world. Can’t wait to drink this again!!
