We just had our floors redone and are now trying to figure out furniture. The L shaped couch needs to go. I have firm back cushions coming for the other one so it will look better.
We love our bay window but the two couches are already 12 feet apart. If we put a non-L couch in the bay it would be even further distance which I think would feel odd. Possibly same with two chairs unless we got huge ottomans to fill the gap. I don’t think the room is large enough to turn it into two spaces i.e. chairs and small table by the window + two couches. Maybe a couch with chaise would be a compromise since the long end wouldn’t stick out so far..? We also have a child on the way so just something to keep in mind, honestly not sure what exactly to consider from that aspect.
Also while we’re here, change paint from the cooler SW pure white to warmer SW cold foam or leave it? 🤔
I’d love to know what you would suggest!

Rug, couch, coffee table in front of fireplace. A second rug a couple cozy chairs and a table by the window creating a nice seating area
Get a rug.
Furniture doesn’t need to be pressed up against walls.
