I believe this is the floor plan we will be getting with our apartment complex and I’ve been trying to brain storm of the best layout..I unfortunately have to sell my current couch so i have some flexibility with the furniture in this room but i’m genuinely a little lost in where to put the TV. I have 0 to none creativity ability so i’m sorry if this is dumb haha. My guess is over the fire place but seems high and also there is no outlet so i’m confused if it’s even possible to mount on there. Just wondering if anyone has suggestions 🙂

Having the same issue because I don’t want to end up in r/tvtoohigh 😭

Just get a mantle mount for your tv, one that pulls out and down. Then put up and hide as a painting during the day. Easy.

If you’re renting and can’t modify the mantle, it’s worth considering placing the TV on a media console to one side of the fireplace instead of above it. You avoid the neck-tilt issue entirely and don’t need any new wiring. The target is having the center of your screen at roughly 42-48 inches from the floor when seated – above most fireplace mantles puts you 10-15 inches too high, which is where the r/tvtoohigh problem comes from.

If you do eventually want it above the fireplace – the outlet situation is more manageable than it looks. An electrician can install an in-wall power kit that routes the cable through the wall cavity with no visible cords. Most apartments will allow it since the drywall is easily patchable when you leave. Worth asking your landlord before assuming it’s a no.

Is your couch that big? Is the room pictured in the 2 pics just the living space, and the dining area separate?
