Looks like you have lots of space but hard to tell in the pic. If space allows, I would swing the couch around where it faces the tv with the back to the table. You really only need a walkway path between the couch and chair. This will create a designated living room area. Add a coffee table, toy chest or ottoman in front of couch.

You aren’t exactly giving us much to work with here….but I would recommend facing the couch towards the tv to create an actual living room space and framing it with a really nice big rug.
Get rid of that monstrosity in the corner, or put it in a kids room or basement. Then move the recliner there.
You’ll want a tv console, and a coffee table or end tables as well. And you need color and soft things that coordinate with your rug or some wall art. This black and gray everything is rather drab and boring. And get actual wall art that brings you joy. No words/sayings, no back and white, and pick something large for that wall where the stairs are. IKEA has big art for affordable prices – it’s not amazing but it’s a good place to start when you are on a budget. You’ll want art for over the fireplace too.
A plant or longer-ish mirror to the left of the tv would be nice too once you have a tv console.
