This is the only room in our flat that I’m stumped on! Prior to moving in our landlord was getting a decorator in and knowing I was a designer she asked if I wanted to choose my own colours for each room instead of just the landlord special white/magnolia everywhere (very lucky that they’re so encouraging of tenants to make the spaces their own and they’ve been very happy with all the changes I’ve made throughout the rest of the flat, even enlisting me to redesign the communal entrance hall because she trusts my vision so much which is amazing!)
But the bedroom has stumped me, I chose the deep tealy blue before moving in and had lived with it for two years, and even though I do still love that as a colour I realised quickly I didn’t like it for this space as it’s north facing and just felt too cold/dark particularly through the winters. So I recently just used some leftover “beige white” to knock out the blue and reset the space. My instinct is telling me to paint the ceiling an above the picture rail in a warm colour, and keep the lower walls fairly bright and neutral (though I do think they need to go a little darker than they are right now as I don’t like the lack of contrast between the blinds and window frames)
I don’t love the carpet colour, it’s a pretty sad brownish grey, so whilst I’d have loved to try a golden tone on the ceiling I feel like it might clash with the carpet having a slightly more red undertone.
I also do plan to lower the ceiling light and get a large rug once I’m happy with the colour choices, and I’m probably going to sell the chair as it was never meant for this space!
Open to any and all suggestions 😊

I’m sorry but walls and ceilings above and below the picture rail look to be the exact same to me. Beautiful space and agreed about the chair!
Your space is beautiful as is
I really like it as is
I liked the teal (but I’m a bit of a teal addict). But the cream color looks nice as well. It’s a beautiful room either way. Can you get a large area rug to cover the carpet? That’s what I’ve done in all my rooms with ugly carpet.
