This is Emilio Hidalgo’s entry-level Oloroso. It clocks in at 18,5% ABV and has seen an average of 12 years in the solera system.

Low acidity. A fair bit of salinity. There’s some glycerol here, combining with the oxidative nuttiness to give this an almost sweet attack. Quite sapid and vertical, with a long finish that gives a bit of drying tannins and oak spice.

This wine is very much in the Hidalgo house style (see my previous notes [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/wine/comments/1qfm5re/emilio_hidalgo_palo_cortado_marqu%C3%A9s_de_rodil/)): elegant, precise, not a lot of toasty notes. Excellent value for money.

Sounds (and looks) lovely! Now, I’m not at all experienced with sherry, but would you drink this whole bottle over an evening? Or would one stretch it out over time? How is one “meant” to drink sherry?
