2016 Julian Haart Piesporter Goldtröpfchen Riesling Spätlese

What better way to celebrate with a delicious wine from the incredibly talented Julian Haart. The fame of the wines from this highly sought after estate are earned by the relentless hard work, passion, and talent of husband and wife duo, Julian and Nadine Haart.
This wine was enjoyed a couple weeks ago when dear friend and incredibly talented winemaker Gianluca Grasso of Elio Grasso came to visit Chicago. What better way to celebrate friendship than with a special wine made by special people? As KPK says, wine truly brings people together.
I opened the bottle at 7am to insure it was ready to go for dinner. As is the case with these wines, they really benefit from air. This bottle was absolutely singing! Ethereal and so fine, it burst from the glass with orchard fruits and spicy herbs. The palate was filigreed with incredible detail, juicy piquant apples, and a long spicy finish. It paired fantastically with the food on the table and most importantly brought tons of pleasure to my friends.
