Just moved in and I’m trying to update this really retro kitchen a little bit. I don’t have much of a budget so I was gonna do kitchen vinil, change the handles and change the titles. I can’t change the countertop or the floor for now! Help 🩷 last photo is original

I like the first picture with the darker wood. The accent lighting would look great.
First one. Second looks like office break room or doctor’s office. Also look into changing the cabinet hardware and faucet if you can.

What color tiles are you considering? That might influence the cabinet color. For example, smaller white tiles with a blue delft pattern could work with light blue cabinets and the terracotta color top.
How good are you at DIY? Personally, I like the lighter kitchen with contrast between the elements. But what I’d do is pop those wood strips off the cabinet doors, then cut and glue my own shaker trim around the edges and add more modern hardware. But understandable if that work isn’t quite in your wheelhouse:)

I really like your current kitchen tbh, its super funky. Maybe warmer lighting and you could update the backsplash, but i think the cabinets are cool
Can you go for different handles on the cupboards? The ones in the mockups are very “office”.
Whichever one you go with, I’d be really interested seeing how then finished product looks compared to the plan
