We've been on an Italian kick lately and this one delivered. 2020 Cossetti Clemente e Figli Cinquantotto Barbaresco. Dried rose petals and tar right out of the glass, dark cherry and leather on the palate, with wet stone and graphite minerality running underneath. Cranberry acidity keeps it lifted. Med+ tannins and totally in balance. Solid complexity for a ~$40 Barbaresco.
The finish is medium and it's not going to rewrite your list. But we want to keep exploring. What are your go-to Barbaresco producers, big or small, value or splurge?
