Hello all! I saw good reviews for this merlot, so I purchased ($45, only mentioning price cause i was so disappointed )and drank a glass. It started out great, smelled and tasted very fruity, but about 10 min into drinking it this, the wine lost all fruity flavors and developed a harsh bitter aftertaste. 5 minutes after that both the fruity flavors and bitter flavors were gone and this just tasted extremely bland. This same exact thing happened on my second glass. ( drank out of new glass)
I am wondering if the bottle got was bad or this is just a bad flavor profile of this wine. Does anyone have any insight about this?

I almost picked up this bottle at Kroger earlier today. And reading a few reviews some of mentioned a lingering finish while others have mentioned a short finish. There may be some inconsistencies between bottles.
My favorite Merlot right now is from Keenan, consistently good, high quality and solid Napa Merlot.
What’s the vintage? Or is this a blend of vintages?
