So I just moved into this apartment, and her photos of my living room. I would like any and all suggestions or advice on how to make this look better. Because the walls are uneven, I can’t Center the television stand with the rest of the room. All suggestions and advice are welcome.

  1. Your chairs look like the floating out in space. Bring the sofas, chairs, coffe table together with a rug. Mayb a circular rug since everything looks blocky. Im not 100 percent confident on the circular rugs but my first impression was “i think it will look nice with a circular rug there..” I usually go with my first instinct that pops up in my head. 😅

The 2 small chairs facing the couch and none of them being faced towards the TV is frying my brain. Put the couch in front of the door (turn 90 degrees) and put the TV in the centre of the console, even if the console isn’t centred! I think the desk needs to be flat against the wall, as does the book shelf. And the 2 smaller chairs should be at an angle somewhere. Everything atm looks nice but just in the wrong places – it makes it look very formal and blocky, kind of like a waiting room!

Hi! Congrats on the new spot. 🙂 While the room layout is inconvenient, i think you’ve got too much furniture, and you’re prioritizing decoration over functionality in such a small room. I’d take out one of the accent chairs and either the media center or coffee table. I’d move the TV to where the painting is, couch facing the TV, with small side tables. TV or coffee table under the TV. One accent chair near the entryway window.

That shallow table can go where your TV is currently, and I’d get rid of that orange accent chair. I would also get rid of at least ONE of the tall dried plant-decorations you have. The tall shelf you have for decorations would also be a great place for a bar cart.
