Just painted the walls here blue (previously a bright red) and doing final touches on that. My confusion comes from the wood wall and beam here. The bathroom was remodeled, doesn’t really fit the “vibe” of the house we moved into, but I do like the wood wall. My issue is it doesn’t feel organic to the space. I’m curious if folks agree or disagree, and what they would do with the space. I’m also toying with the idea of painting the ceiling, which is entirely white now. I don’t love the tiling, and our long term plan is to put a clawfoot tub in here so I will wait to fuck with new tiling until we do all that. When we put in the tub I’ll probably knock out that space in front of the toilet as it is just a hallway closet we don’t have a huge need for, and then put in a partition of some kind between the toilet and sink/shower.
Current plan is keep the sink, change the light fixtures, and do lots of wall art/decor. The side behind me is a solid wall maybe 6ft long. The sliding door goes to our laundry room/closet, which is about the same size as the bathroom itself and painted a tan color. I’d love any advice, this is our first home and first time ever doing much besides just painting.

I think the wood looks nice and contributes to the moody vibe of the blue you chose. The floors are ugly yeah. I think once the tile is changed the room will feel more cohesive. I’m kind of confused about the hallway closet set up you’re describing, so can’t offer advice on that aspect based on these pictures.
I’d cover up the bathtub tile in some manner, ASAP.
