We just bought a townhouse and need help adding colour and personality. It’s boring beige, we want colour and modernity with some plants, pendant lights, mirrors, wood accents. I have zero skill here, please help!

What furniture abs accessories do you already have?

If none, I find the easiest way to start a color palette is to pick a piece of art that you love and coordinate other things from there.

Either way, scroll the internet for what kind of style you like and collect ideas. You will start to see a pattern and you can draw inspo from that collection.

Congrats! And have fun. This is the fun phase!

It’s a blank slate. What are your favorite colors? Mine are red and blue and my modern condo is cozy. Mix styles of furniture. Make sure you have some old things. Go to flea markets and garage sales

    Congrats on the new home!

For me, the issue isn’t the bare walls, it’s the cool tone grey ish flooring and carpet. That said, paint will go a long way.

If you paint the living or dining area, you might need to carry the paint across more walls than you’d like since it’s one connected, long rectangular space.

Other ways to add colour: rug, art, plants, pillows, curtains.

Don’t put the tv above the fireplace if you can help it. I see an outlet there but it’ll be tv too high.

It’s a beautiful space, very light and airy. Beige is far better than grey.
