Help me bring this space together! :)

I recently moved into this flat bought the couch and artwork, DIY ed the sideboard, got the Table of Facebook market place.

Relics from the previous owner still remain: Book shelf, white highboard, plastic chairs, and the booze cart 🙂 I definitely want to replace the chairs and the highboard. the other items im not attached to. Also the blue picture with the guy is gonna be moved into the hallway as soon as the large mirror I ordered arrives. I am still waiting for the lamp you see in the pictures which will be installed above the kitchen counter. I was also thinking on hanging the stainless steel sideboard from the wall.

The problem im having is im not able to envision on how to bring everything together. Im struggling specifically with the rug choice. Im really hoping for any suggestion (rug, furniture, deco, anything really) you might have, to make this space feel cohesive and would be really grateful for any Input <3
