Nose: Raspberries and black pepper. Palate: Raspberries and black pepper. I’m not too mad at it, but being from such an iconic producer I was hoping to be a little more titillated. Still, Gamay from Bourgogne is fun in and of itself, I guess. Just falls a little short of my expectations.
Price $32
Would buy again? I’d drink again, but I wouldn’t pay for it

Bourgogne Gamay is such an interesting appellation.
The Gamay actually has to come exclusively from the Beaujolais Crus, so it’s technically not “Gamay from Bourgogne” but rather usually a blend of Bojo Crus.
This one is even weirder, as it’s a blend of 85% Gamay from Bojo and 15% Pinot Noir from Burgundy (hence the “deux terres” or “two lands”), which TLB just chose to make/label this way for funsies. From that standpoint, $32 isn’t bad for Cru Beaujolais + a bit of Burgundy PN from a solid producer.
Goes back to the never-ending question of *“Is Beaujolais part of Burgundy?”*
Of course, the most correct answer is “sorta, but only sometimes.”
