There's about a case of Silver Oak 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon at my local grocery store. No idea how they've been stored and a little worried about smoke taint from that particular year. Does $63 a bottle sound reasonable to you?

That’s a $63 bottle at my local big box wine shop. I’m a pass at that price.

I’d be worried about smoke taint on these. I might buy 1 to give it a try. Can you offer the manager a lower price?

  3. That’s a competitive price but that’s it. Not a steal and for that much you can buy a much better bottle

Do you or those around you love some silver oak? Then yes. Even if not for yourself, it’s good for bringing to dinners as a high effort wine for those who have passing knowledge of wine.

If not, then no. It’s only a fair price for the quality.

2020s suck – AV on top of it. Hard pass.

No only because of the placement of that sticker.

I generally stay away from these discounted wines at grocery stores. They are stored upright, in varying temperatures, sometimes for months or years. I worked for a distribution company and saw it firsthand. Spend your money at a shop that takes care of their bottles.
