What can I put to separate the living room from dining place ? I was thinking small ottomans at the end of the carpet? It’s a very small apartment so I don’t want it to be crowded but don’t like how it’s all together

Maybe a chair or I like the ottomans idea. TBH so many homes are built like this now and it is just terrible. I call it “gymnasium style” bc it’s all just one big space. Bring back “closed concept”

Book shelf with those cubby holes as a partition? Or Japanese screens?

A slender and long side cabinet, or some plants

Area rugs for each space are enough to define each area

I think the main reason it looks like there’s no division is because you have to walk between the sofa and the TV from the door to the dining area. I think if you put the TV on the opposite wall and face the sofa toward it, with a walkway between the back of the sofa and the door, it will feel more like its own, interrupted area. The rug will help it feel cohesive. If you pull the sofa away from the sliding doors with enough room to walk there, you may not even anything to divide it.

Honestly just using an armchair that faces away from DR will help here.
