It’s because you have lots of small things. It’s organized, but you don’t have large pieces of art or such on the wall to ground yourself in the room and orientate the smaller pieces around.
You have lots of space, so getting rid or anything is going to make it feel barren.

I don’t think so. I’d do a tighter grouping of the instruments, switch the art up the stairs for the personal photos and hang the personal photos going up the stairs.

Well, your entertainment wall looks like it’s part of a Best Buy. It’s just not very homey. I don’t know if there’s much you can do about that without sacrificing your preferred gadget arrangement.
The rest looks great to me. You are keeping it tidy and clean. Many of us would love to get our homes this nice.
One thing I’ll add, that bench must weigh two hundred pounds. Give it away to a pirate ship so they’ll have a shiny new plank, and get more chairs. Pretty dining room table–I hope you have a lot of great fun around it.

No. You just have a child. The play pen is really the only thing taking up a lot of space. As they age you wont have that there.
