2020 Domaine Zind Humbrecht Sommerberg Grand Cru Riesling

Opened, tasted, and then decanted for about an hour

Nose on opening was beautiful yet tight. Lots of crushed stone and underripe stone fruit. Tight on the palate, rich yet clean and elegant

After decanting, this wine started to show some incredible richness and elegance. Petrol seeps through a lemon honey-comb on the nose. Rich and powerful lemon butter oily texture on the palate with touch of just slightly ripe Anjou pear. Medium+ acid that balances out the insane 30+ second finish.

This wine sticks with you and you’ll wish you had a magnum.

Zind-Humbrecht Grand Crus are always sublime. They really should only come in magnum size. That’s the minimum you need for complete enjoyment haha. Cheers!

Beautiful. Alsace, Finger Lakes in NY state, and Germany and Austria. So many amazing Rieslings to pick.
