So… I just got married this last weekend!

Im sharing this here because my father gave me the best gift anyone in this subreddit could ask for. The gift, on the picture, are bottles for me and my husband to open in our wedding anniversaries for the years to come. I also love that he asked for the original cases with the bottles, so now that's where they will age for now, until the day I have a wine cellar that can fit those.

I hope this is ok on the rules! I just wanted to share and maybe inspire someone else to attach such beautiful meaning to very special bottles. For me it is extra special because my dad was the one who introduced me to the wine world.

Also, which would be your choice for the first year? 😉

SHL is fantastic. Definitely would love this as a gift.

  2. What a wonderful gift that you will be able to enjoy of many years. Congratulations on the marriage! I’d go for the Chateau Kirwan first since has a few more years of age. Smith Haut Lafitte is one of my favorites though, had a wonderful visit last year to the winery and stayed next door. The ‘21 should be approachable within a couple years since is a lighter style wine that vintage, so doesn’t have to age quite as long as typical. Definitely invest in a wine refrigerator sooner rather than later unless you have a place in your residence that is dark and cool with a relatively steady temp and adequate humidity since you plan to keep much of the wine for several years.
