So my boyfriend and I started living together in December and we have both a different style. He does have color but its mostly dark greens and blues or browns.
I like more warm earthy colors and im stuck with grey walls.
He loves black to spite his mother and it seems to be the only style option when I ask for opinions on big pieces for the livingroom.
Ill show my idea for decorating. I dont know if black is really working in my space and I need some ideas. I feel style deaf or locked?
We want to get foldable wall divider for the cat box and the only colors are beige, brown, or black. He obviously wants black. I have to get a tv stand still too so that will help with lighting.

Tell him brown is close enough to black and is a compromise for the divider, then switch out the rug for something with warm browns and greens
