How should I style my family space?

I paid an interior designer I found on Etsy to help me redesign my space, but I don’t love what she put together. She proposed something similar to what I have now, and I feel the space feels empty. However, she also suggested a coffee table so that may help? I don’t have a good vision for this, and I’m very nervous if I spend all this money and hate it I have to live with it forever (like all my other home designs).
