PLEASE HELP GUYS!

My wife and i have been renovating our apartment.

We’re currently working on the bathroom and we’ve come to a point where we dont know how we really feel about it. Also we are big believers in “if we dont absolutely love it, we wont like it” but we just wanted to get more opinions on the matter.

The last photo on this post is our original inspiration and we went with our own version of that sort of trying to match the vibe.

We have been loving the bathroom as a whole until we painted the green wainscot. Im not sure if the problem is the shower tile thats completely off or what but we need your honest opinions.

Pretty much, what do you guys think of this bathroom?

the transition from the shower to wainscoting is jarring physically and mixes styles in a not great way

the black and white tile on the ground is stylistically too different from the blue gray tile. I think you should rethink the wainscoting but I would honestly do an hour interior design consultation with someone to get on track. This feels like a bathroom with a lot of potential!

I think the green needs a little more black in it to darken it up. That would help the metallics and the flooring shine.

The inspiration pic shows 2 types of tile. You are using 3 to try and capture the green wainscoting. The shower floor tile is stylistically very different and unnecessary. I would either carry the floor tiles through the base and shelf of or get a simple dark square tile.

In the inspiration photo, the floor and wall/shower tiles have the same undertones/coloring. Your floor tiles are “cool” whereas the wall tiles are “warm”. The green works better with the floor. I would change the wall tiles if I were you.

Love the floor and the over design. I really don’t like the shower floor tile. It’s not that it not nice, it’s not symmetrical in my mind. It needs to be turned around, I am sure that it’s just me. The green and shower wall tile are 🫶🏻

This reminded me of the cell where they hose off Farva in Super Troopers.

The other commenters are on the money but please take a chisel to the tiles that meet the floor on that shower divide. Either split them neatly in two if the floor is level, or strip out the top thin run and replace it with an accent color. Ideally replace them with a single slab to match the top but…

I don’t know OP. I like your inspiration photo but I don’t think you’re there.
