We just moved in and I’m wondering if I should get a smaller rug or if this placement is fine. I think it will be fine once I add in a coffee table and two accent chairs but I’m wondering if I should move it to frame the tv/entertainment center since right now there’s a little extra rug on the left side.
Don’t have money to replacement the sectional (which I despise) with a regular couch unfortunately. Just trying to make do with what we have.

i think you should either get a smaller rug or maybe move it further under the couch maybe?
I’d suggest moving it to the right, towards the infotainment center, so only the front legs of the sectional are on the rug. Adding chairs and a coffee table will definitely help.
I think that the pattern in the rug emphasizes the asymmetry. A solid or a full pattern rug might work with the added chairs and table but what you have looks awkward. If it’s in your budget go for a rug that’s a bit smaller- don’t go too small, though, because you are adding accent chairs.
