Opened both of these for a friend's birthday. Both incredible but the Morgeot "Marquis de Laguiche" was WOTN!

2019 Drouhin Puligny Montrachet 1er Folatières:

Judicious oak. Very large scaled and hefty with the right amount of acidity to provide much needed lift and balance. Fruit more in the ripe orchard fruit spectrum with a touch of citrus and barrel spice. 92 pts

2019 Marquis de Laguiche (Joseph Drouhin) Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Morgeot:

Deep exotic nose of sweet/ripe meyer lemon, kumquat, lemon confit, pear and honeysuckle. The palate exhibits near Grand Cru weight and density. Richly flavored, thick fleshy oily texture, with enough acidity to give it shape and structure.
In the sweet spot now, why wait. 96 pts
