What other elements do you have that you can’t change?
If you have a lot of neutral palette items already, get a very neutral rug (soft colors to keep from conflicting with the walls) and allow the color of the walls to just be a backdrop for everything else. If you are into plants at all, this is a good opportunity to just add several potted plants and different shades of green (the plants and walls) can be the main color in the room other than warm toned neutrals like soft white, cream, tan, browns, etc.
