We’re redoing the living room and dining room. The walls will be sage green. I am considering doing the dining room, which isn’t really separated from the living room, in wallpaper. For fun. My husband says wallpaper goes in and out of style so quickly I’ll want to take it down in 4 years. Is he right? Is it a mistake? If I find one I like, should I say to hell with it? I want to go wild and choose something super cool.

As long as you don’t choose a super trendy pattern, good wallpaper isn’t going to go out of style. Wallpaper patterns tend to be quite subjective like wall art.
If you think you’ll still like it, who cares if goes out of style. It’s your house.
I am absolutely going to wallpaper my power rooms in my current house and my next, but powder rooms are a small and safe choice.
