Hello!

I’m renovating a bathroom for the first time in my life and am looking into redoing the tile in the shower. One part of me likes the idea of minimizing grout lines with the larger format marble-style porcelain tiles, but I don’t want it to look too… “fake”? So I’m staying away from the typical white with grey veining. I like the texture the glossy white subway tiles add, but it comes with many-a grout lines.

The attached comparison photo is purely to compare the two blue tile options with the three background tile options (imagine bottom left blue tile is the same as bottom middle and right). Other than gold/brass hardware, the niche I’m still figuring out. I have also added a few generated samples for the room – *note: the shower head (with accent) will be on the right wall next to the window*, and the white portion of the median wall will be glass. The floor is a wood-like tile.

In your opinion, which background would you pick with each blue accent tile? Which pairing would you pick? Would you suggest an alternative?

Since the topic has been breached, my plan was for the niche to have the same tile as the rest of the wall (not blue). Thoughts?

Greatly appreciate all opinions!

#2 would be my pick. To me, the background and highlight compliment one another. The other ones contrast or compete.
