I absolutely love Poujeaux, one of my favorite producers, and this bottle reminds me why. Forgive me from the people who always complain and say "why do people drink Bordeaux so young?" Especially this one since it has such a long maturity curve.

It's got the slightest brick red hue on the outside rim.

Very grippy tannins right off the bat. Going let this one sit for a bit. Swirling opens up the nose, black fruit, cherry 🍒 and blackberry. Nose is a bit jammy. Graphite maybe?

Palate was pretty closed up. Really drys out my mouth. Sharp tannins. Such a slow wine to develop, but every sip is something a little different which is fun.

Been about an hour. It's mellowing out, and tasting quite lovely 😍. More tertiary notes that I can taste. Tobacco, cedar, wet forest floor. Bit of spice, like anise or allspice. Excited to see how the other half is tomorrow night!
