2012 Corpinnat from my favorite producer. This bottle is 100% Xarel-lo and got 104 months of lees aging. I paid $60 at a local shop. 12.5% ABV. Brut nature.
Appearance: medium intensity gold hue with persistent, fine bubbles.
Nose: Fully developed and quite complex. Clean, pronounced aromas that jump out of the glass of toasted pine nuts, brioche, balsamic, and fresh cheese. There are some more subtle scents of dried herbs and tropical fruit as well.
Palate: Pronounced and complex with notes mentioned in the nose as well as citrus, rhubarb, and more forward tropical fruit than the aromas lead on. Long finish with high acid that has this begging to be paired with food.
Overall this is a fantastic bottle of bubbles. I think I still enjoy the Castellroig Rosat from this producer more as a weeknight drink, but the complexity and depth of this wine was fun to sift through.
