We were given this bottle as a gift recently. I don’t know a lot about Georgian wines, other than being aware the wine making there goes back millennia but not much actual drinking experience. I believe it’s a 2022 wine and it’s 13.5%. It’s very dark in appearance, almost black but a dark magenta edge when it’s held to the light. The nose is quite earthy with dark fruits, some cinnamon and clove spices. In the mouth it feels really full bodied, less earthy than the nose but the dark fruit follows through, particularly cherry and blackberries. There is plenty of tannin there but not overbearing, pretty rounded. The finish has more of the spices from the nose, maybe some tobacco in there. In all it was a decent balanced wine and enjoyed it a lot, I’d certainly want to try more from that part of the world, cheers.
